Cable
Students run Mason Cable Network (MCN), channel 89 on the campus-only cable television system. MCN carries entertainment, news, talk shows, sports, and syndicated programming on a 24-hour schedule, reaching the residential population of more than 4,000 students. Fliers and Posters
A limited number of fliers and posters from non-Mason organizations may be displayed in the Johnson Center and the student union buildings. They must not exceed 11 by 17 inches and must be approved by the Johnson Center Information Desk before posting. All fliers are removed each Sunday between 5 and 6 p.m. Call 703-993-9000.
Newspaper
Broadside, the student-run newspaper, has a circulation of 4,000 and a readership estimated at 8,000. Broadside is published weekly, both online and in print on Mondays during the university’s fall and spring semesters. It is distributed at all three campuses, local businesses, and the Vienna Metro Station. Broadside covers all aspects of the Mason community, including news, events, entertainment, and sports. Radio Station
WGMU, the student-run radio station, broadcasts through the Internet at wgmuradio.com. The 24-hour station broadcasts news programs, talk shows, and music. It also broadcasts Mason women’s basketball games. WGMU sponsors the WGMU Summer Radio Camp, a weeklong workshop for area high school and middle school students to teach them basic radio skills.
